Socialmatic is trying to jump-start a new revolution of instantly printed photos with its new Polaroid-branded camera, which will allow people to get prints of their shots that have photo filters similar to what Instagram uses.
However, there’s one big thing that could hold this “revolution” back – Socialmatic’s $300 price tag, which was announced by the company today.
The square-shaped camera itself is an Internet-connected smart camera that runs Android. It has an interchangeable lens system, 4.3-inch touchscreen, Bluetooth, WiFi and 16GB of storage.
It’ll be interesting to see if people are still into the idea of printing photos, especially since everyone can just text those photos to friends or post them on Facebook. Still the camera seems to be optimized for that purpose as well.
The Socialmatic camera should be available for pre-order across the globe soon, the company said.
