Current Caller ID, an app we’ve called the future of smartphone calling for its ability to bring social media updates and news to your call screens, has seen huge growth in its first year.
WhitePages, the app’s creator, announced today that more than 5 billion calls and texts have been made through the app. Perhaps as a means of celebrating, the company is also releasing an updated version of the app today with new features including customized
Current Caller ID completely replaces your Android phone’s call screen to work its magic, all of which are centered on giving you context around your texts and calls. In addition to social media updates and news, the app can also show you the local weather of a call, alongside typical caller ID features. Think of it like caller ID on steroids.
WhitePages says the app has been downloaded more than 4 million times.
